End of Life Care

We know saying goodbye to a beloved pet is never easy. Our doctors will work closely with you to discuss all of your options when planning your pet’s end of life care. We believe that by making these arrangements in advance, your family can be at peace at the time of passing allowing you to offer the most comfort to your pet when your loving companionship is needed most.

When you contact Serenity for the initial consultation, any questions or concerns you might have will be answered. Appointments will be scheduled at a time that is most convenient for you and, of course, at the time your pet needs us the most.There are no time constraints for the in-person appointment. Serenity operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year and has a flexible schedule. Serenity wants you to feel as comfortable as possible making this emotional decision.

Aftercare

We’re here to help honor your beloved companion in the utmost loving, caring, and forbearing manner. We’ll work closely with your family to prepare for the type of aftercare you’d like to honor your pet with. We offer:

• Individual Cremation: Your pet will be cremated individually and ashes will be returned to you. Green cremation, or "aquamation" is more environmentally responsible and available as an option.
  
• Communal Cremation: Your pet will be cremated with other pets and their remains will be respectfully scattered at sea.
• If you are located in the San Francisco Bay Area, private cremations are delivered via USPS.

Hospice

Pet hospice care provided in the comfort of a pet's home prioritizes the well-being and dignity of terminally ill or elderly pets during their the later stages of life. This specialized form of care enables pets to experience a peaceful and familiar environment, surrounded by the love of their human companions, minimizing stress and anxiety often associated with clinical settings. Pet hospice care focuses on pain management, symptom relief, and emotional support, ensuring that pets can maintain more dignity and comfort and enhancing overall quality of life. Learn more
